Following Expansion work, Trichy airport was recently inaugurated by Mr P.Chidambaram, Indian Union Minister of Home Affairs, on 21/02/2009.

This inauguration along with the recent deployment of additional 70 CISF staff has enabled daily flights to Dubai, Singapore from 03/03/2009.
